Mistakes 03:45
MISTAKES Don’t tell me how to live my life Let me make my own mistakes And if you choose to go away Away is where you’re gonna stay I never thought that love’s so hard Nobody can teach you how To love someone all your life And feel that you never missed out Would you forgive me if you knew? Would I forgive you? I hope we never break us up If we do I'll remember you As someone I could have loved Until the end of time
2.
Rich People 02:16
RICH PEOPLE My baby says I'm crazy When I say: Love is for the poor Love's rich people's invention For keeping us under control They're spending all our money On fancy cars and castles with pools And all we've got is a little affection If we're lucky to find someone to love That's if we're lucky to find someone to love Rich people will never know And I think it's funny Do their lovers love them for themselves For themselves or for the money Don't get me wrong, I'm happy With my baby I wrote you this song It's those rich folks I feel sorry for For getting their priorities wrong For getting their priorities wrong Rich people will never know And I think it's funny Do their lovers love them for themselves For themselves or for the money

I'm Yours 03:37
I'M YOURS If you wanna know how I feel inside Imagine a wounded beast whose life hangs on a thread And those hunting dogs are too damn close If you wanna know what you mean to me Then you should imagine A star in the sky That helps me find the way You show me where they are You hide me in the dark When they're gone You take me home I'm yours, to you only I belong Home, I'm yours, I belong to you Like the stars to the sky Solo And if you wanna know what keeps me alive Then all you need to do Is to see me smile Whenever you shine on me You show me where they are You hide me in the dark When they're gone You take me home I'm yours, to you only I belong Home, I'm yours, I belong to you Like the stars to the sky

Frog 03:17
FROG (intro) I once knew a frog But unlike other frogs This one had a dream Only in stories she lived Sometimes not even she Knew in which one One day I met her in town In her best dressing gown When I asked her: “where to?” This is what she said to me: I’m going to buy myself a crown, Coz my prince might come around (solo) One day I met her in town In her best dressing gown When I asked her: “where to?” This is what she said to me: I’m going to buy myself a crown, Coz my prince might come around I’m going to buy myself a crown, As my prince might come around (Outro) END

THIN ICE Walking on thin ice Leaves us wounded Bruised and wounded So why do we do it? Stop scheming at the back there Are you planning to cash in? On peoples' suffering On their misery Give it away, give it away now And it will come back Come back to haunt you And bring you down They want to keep us Keep us in our place Turn us against each other Brother on brother Stop scheming at the back there Are you planning to cash in? On peoples' suffering On their misery Give it away, give it away now And it will come back Come back to haunt you And bring you down Give it away, give it away now And it will come back Come back to haunt you And bring you down (Solo) Give it away, give it away now And it will come back Come back to haunt you And bring you down Give it away, give it away now And it will come back Come back to haunt you And bring you down

Repay 03:35
REPAY It was a surprise but I knew I should't feel bad It seemed to be an overdue end And I could not be absolutely sure But it was just a matter of time before we became history Knowing what you did, I still found it hard to leave To justify and to understand And I realised, sitting in an empty room, Our world collapsed in ruins just because you wanted more More of everything Now you must repay the love Madness you created and the pain For you this was just a phase You must repay the love that you abused (instrumental) Knowing what you did, I still found it hard to leave To justify and to understand And I realised, sitting in an empty room, Our world collapsed in ruins just because you wanted more More of everything Now you must repay the love Madness you created and the pain For you this was just a phase You must repay the love that you abused

about

Ok, here’s the story about this EP. Mike Davies and I started recording these 6 songs at BonaFide Studio in London in 2010 just before austerity started for me, i.e. when my job was made redundant and I ran out of money for this project. I never released the songs until now because I felt that three out of six songs were not finished. Fast forward 7 years – Mike and I had another listen and realised that we are happy with where the songs are at and decided to release them.

I decided to name it Austerity EP because in my mind this project became a symbol for the last ten years during which millions of people throughout the world, including me, felt the effects of one of the biggest financial crises ever.

To celebrate the release, everyone who buys this EP this year (2017) will get remixes of the three "unfinished" songs (Frog, I'm Yours and Rich People) for free in 2018. I hope that you, like me, would like to compare the original recordings of these three songs made in 2010 with more contemporary arrangements that I’m currently working on with a very talented musician and sound engineer Camilo Tirado. Have a listen to the bonus track (Thin Ice demo) and Thin Ice 2017 and you will see what an expert on Logic Pro Camilo is.
